Finding My God is a plain spoken, compelling reflection of the author’s eighty year journey from blind faith to conviction, inspired by the wife he fell in love with sixty-five years ago. A person of science and technology, his personal need was to rely not only on scripture but also the wisdom of persons he grew to respect and scientific truth that became known long after the Bible and Qur’an were written. Very much a Christian he believes his purely spiritual God totally inhabited Jesus and carries out His will by inhabiting all who seek His truth as it was revealed through the ministry of Jesus Christ.

The author combines an ability to discuss scientific knowledge in everyday terms with his inquisitive nature and analytical skills. He addresses those who find scientific basis to deny God and those who choose to believe our imperfect world could not possibly have been created by a God worthy of worship.

Finding My God is not about providing answers to life’s incomprehensible questions. Instead, believers and non-believers are challenged, in a thought-provoking way, to consider the author’s views and embark upon their own conversations regarding the subjects discussed. They include The Big Bang, God’s Creation, Intelligent Human Life, The Imperfection of Humanity, The Word of God, and Heaven.

Among the questions he considers as he seeks to find a God he can call My God, the author asks

What if science conclusively proves that Stephen Hawking is correct and God did not create our physical Universe?

What If science cannot disprove that a purely spiritual God has nonetheless been present since the very beginning of time?

What if such a God exists and is one with an infinite spiritual domain that co-exists with the finite physical Universe created by the Big Bang?

The author invites you to join him in seeking your own answers to these and many other questions.

In the final analysis everyone’s relationship with God and Jesus is a personal one. But for many people of faith it is difficult to articulate just what it is they believe, and why they believe it. One of the core reasons for this is the ageless problem of not being able to prove God’s existence, often to ourselves and more so to our non- believer friends and by extension to the greater public, which I, for one, would like to influence.
In “Finding My God”, Rob Goldbach reconciles the beliefs of those who struggle in accepting God’s existence due to lack of empirical evidence with the beliefs of those that might be too willing to embrace the Good Book. Rob, through his scientific approach, has been able to build a bridge which can be very useful and hopeful for both mindsets.
To those people who will not even consider a Christianity centered spiritual life because they cannot accept the idea of a virgin birth and the other physical miracles described in the Bible, Rob simply argues that a belief in those reported events do not matter. As an active church member, who hopes his own spiritual journey never ends, I can say that Rob’s well-reasoned thoughts, insights and solutions resonate with me. The idea of a totally spiritual God that cannot effect any physical influence in the Universe but who still loves us and can, with our acceptance of him, cause us to do his will is both comforting and sensible to me.
I truly believe that if going forward Christianity were taught borrowing more of Rob’s reasoning and explanations, and if it would unshackle itself from some of the more questionable traditional liturgy, readings and teachings, then we might stand a better chance of reversing the decline of our faith in the western world.

Finding My God An EightyYear Journey edition by Robert Goldbach Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I recently had the notion that somewhere along the way I had lost my God. I became fixated on finding in the literature words of wisdom that would rekindle my spiritual awakening . My search lead me to a book titled, Finding My God. I invite you to rekindle your spirit by reading this Robert Goldbach treasure.
A compelling, logical and very thoughtful dissertation on the existence and qualities of God. The book is a truly thought-provoking book, well worth any serious person's time, believer or not. While the author describes himself as a Christian I suspect that many traditional Christians will have some difficulty at first in accepting Goldbach's explanation of God. I also suspect that upon further reflection they may come away agreeing, or at least acknowledging, that his definition transcends traditional explanations of who and what God is as taught by most organized religions. His God is a truly universal God. Whether the reader is a religious person, an agnostic, or even an atheist, this book will provoke some self-examination and thinking about one of life's most important questions. If everyone believed as the author does we would live in a much better world.
It was thought provoking and each of us in our own way need to find "Our God"
I enjoyed reading this book. While I did not agree with all of the author’s opinions, the book led me to contemplate how I think of God and reminded me to be open and more aware on my journey. Thank you Robert Goldbach!
